Hello Friends!
It’s 2 days into 2013 and I’ve been seeing LOTS of resolutions in the past couple of days. Most are written something like: “Stop wasting time” “Do more instead of less”, “Spend more time reading instead of watching TV” “Don’t eat sugar” “Stop not doing exercise”, etc. Those resolutions, while well intended, need a positive boost.

I learned a technique that really works with resolutions:

STATE THINGS IN THE POSITIVE!

Resolutions are like mantras. If we state things in a negative form, it creates resistance. Resistance is exhausting and we eventually give up. Keeping positive can require some energy too; especially for those of us who have trouble with patterns of negativity or lack of motivation. Even so, stating things in the positive helps conjure us and gives us fuel to motive us to do it. So remember, you GET TO exercise today. You ARE eating healthy. You ARE productive. You ARE relaxed. You GET TO relax today.

Always remember you are in the driver seat of your life, even though it may not feel like it sometimes. Everything that is happening in your life is for a reason. It’s all part of your journey and something you need to learn; it’s all perfect in its own way. It’s up to you how you choose to to react to the pain or happiness and it’s up to you how choose to learn from it.

Oh, and don’t try to figure out why you are stressed, procrastinating, not doing something or other. Doing that is just spending energy on something you don’t want to do and setting yourself up to do it again!
